Fall Recap, Captains and Schedule Announced

FLAGSTAFF, AZ-  The Lumberjack Lacrosse team completed its Fall campaign last week before the students went home for winter break. Coach Lawlor likes how the team has progressed and congealed since tryouts.

"We are lucky to have great leadership on this team. We have plenty of guys who are hungry for success on the field, but I have been most impressed with our athletes who lead by example with reps in the weight room, wall-ball, and in the classroom. The returners and leaders of this program have done an excellent job of taking the younger athletes under their wing, and we have really come together as a team. The freshman class, including our transfer student from Japan, have been fun to watch, and have pushed everyone around them to get better."

"Since day one, we have had two goals; the first is to improve each day. The second is to develop an on-field identity while the players create the culture. I think that we have tangible proof of this in the results of our strength & conditioning, and stick-work tests. We are very fortunate to have skilled, and supportive Alumni who really gave us a wake-up call during our second annual Alumni Game in October. After the game we worked hard to improve that team identity- and it showed in our Encore Las Vegas tournament. I am proud of how the men played all weekend, winning scrimmages against several conference opponents and two D1 programs. That performance is a great base to build upon. We must continue our trend of improving each day if we want to achieve our season goals."

The Lumberjacks hit the ground running in the Spring. Practice begins January 16th, with the team scrimmaging University of Arizona in Tucson on January 26th.  We look forward to your support this season!

Brent Marchand, Troy Spinelli, and Jacob Belshin are your 2018-2019 team Captains. Congratulations!

Signs of program growth: We held our second annual Alumni Game, and our inaugural Prospect Day at NAU.

The winners of the inaugural Concrete Jungle Cup had their names etched forever in history!

To wrap up the 2018 Fall semester, the team bonded in true Lumberjack style. We had a blast throwing axes and playing archery tag, hosted by FlagtagAZ
